On January 24, 2022, a Twitter announcement officially introduced the newly formed LSG Team (Lucknow Super Giants) of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The owner of the Lucknow Super Giants is Sanjiv Goenka of the RPSG Group (LSG). He paid INR 7,090 crore for this franchise.

LSG Team 2023

Last season, LSG performed admirably despite being unable to claim the championship. They were able to defeat well-established champions who had previously won several IPL trophies, including Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, and Kolkata Knight Riders. In the last season KL Rahul served as the team’s captain for IPL 2022.

After placing third on the points chart, they qualified for the playoffs. LSG was unable to advance to the final because they were defeated by Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Eliminator round. Although LSG was unable rto win the trophy, but they exhibited the show of great performance in the IPL matches.

LSG Team List 2023

LSG acquired 10 players for their roster during the IPL 2023 auction. Nicholas Pooran, who they selected for Rs. 16 crores, was their most expensive player. The franchise also chose Daniel Sams and Amit Mishra. LSG is going to play 18 games in the league stage of the annualk tournament of IPL 2023. They are scheduled to play 2 games against each team.

Captain of the LSG team 2023

Kl Rahul, the famous batsman of Team India is anticiapted to be the captain of the LSG team in this as well. Because in the last under his captaincy the  team had performed exceptionally well, by defeating some of the best teams of IPL like Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Banglore. However, the name of captain has not yet been cleared and it is an assumption.  Krunal Panday will serve as the vice-president of the team.

Retained Players of LSG team 2023

On November 15, 2022, the Lucknow Super Giants announced their final roster of players they would be keeping for the IPL 2023 auction. For the upcoming season, the franchise kept a total of 15 players on their roster.
